To me, this is about putting your trust into someone who you hardly know and it turning out in the end. This person is someone that nothing bad ever really happens to so you're not sure if you want to put such a burden on them. But when you find out that they want to know you and accept your trust, you're more willing to share your life with them (ie. your hand in my hand, and our feet all in line: walking together, starting a journey?).
