i love this song so much, it nearly made me cry when i first heard it.. as others have said i do believe it is about someone, whether it be a bf, gf, or God who really cares about this other person and wants to help them

i think this particular line is very important to the song and is saying that they know the one they care about is lying about being ok or fine or whatever (as lots of people do even when they arent) and they want to help, but cant till the other stops lying, but when they do stop lying, they'll be there to help take the hurt away with their love. very beautiful...

I'll light the night with stars" my favourite line in the whole song
