Oddly, the sound of this song is very cool, in a laid-back way. There seems to be very little menace in the music itself, but at face value the lyrics seem full of menace. If the lyrics are intended to be as threatening as they seem, maybe the chilly music coupled with the words represents a guy so familiar with this sado-masochism, and with feeling used by the target of the song, that the feelings are like home to him. Like the frightening thoughts - the devils on his mind - his plans for tonight are as easy as plans to meet for coffee. You don't see a lot of this "I want to violate you" stuff from Covenant. Too bad there aren't more comments for this song, I'd love to see what other people think.

Maybe it's about the whole male/female push/pull. The typical guy approaches his feelings for a female through his lust. The typical woman approaches her feelings through her love. So the title of the song is 'afterhours' and for whatever reason, I picture this female bartender and this gal he's well acquainted with. He's sitting at the bar while she's closing up. Maybe he's recalling half a dozen spats they've had where she's told him he's wasting her time and he's...
