when i first heard this song the first thing that came to mind was the suburbs of nashville, tennessee. the area fits the "jesusland" described in this song to a T. and it makes a lot of sense after learning that folds lives on the outskirts of nashville.
having lived in the area for several years i can relate- the way christianity is so commercialized down there is more than slightly hypocritical when you look around at the materialistic wealthy folks...living in their "McMansions on the hill".
