The album Jailbreak has a fantasy theme somewhat inspired by the comic books and other popular culture at the time. In The Warrior, we get the image of a futuristic soldier (silver sreen) and professional killer, possibly killing for the sake of killing-- or perhaps he's a space mercenary?
The bit at the end about his head and heart is hard to reconcile with this theory. Perhaps he has been wounded by a lover (emotionally) and is killing and causing mass destruction until he gets over being dumped or cheated on.
Anyway, this song has one of the best drum solos ever. Mr. Brian Downey has influenced my style a lot, and this song seems written almost exclusively to showcase his talent. How many songs have drum solos these days?
@smackdork Looking up the lyrics and found this sight. I think its about a roman soldier. Especially because the reference to Venus and Mars which were roman gods.
