this song i love. i love the calm sound to it - and i get a pretty obvious message...i dont know if anyone else sees it. regardless of WHERE parkdale is i think the emphasis lies perfectly in the line "we almost forgot every building is a shop, every person is a shopper..." living in a consumer or "magazine" neighborhood (which we all really do and are frequently reminded of) and forgetting altogether in a short span of peace. don't know if thats what the intention was - but i can definitely see it and relate for sure.
And "finally, it almost seemed authentic" as if that were the thing they were waiting for, and real authenticity was out of the question from the start.
And "finally, it almost seemed authentic" as if that were the thing they were waiting for, and real authenticity was out of the question from the start.
