Me too. Listening to this takes me back in time... ironically, to when I wasn't even born. Isobel Campbell's stylings and the instrumental arrangement hark back to the days of 60s 'easy listening/lounge' chanteuses. And yet the mystically melancholy element in Campbell's voice just adds that bit of gravitas which is necessary for a great song (otherwise, its' just bubblegum crap).

As for the lyrics, it's fairly straightforward to me. On a more general level it's about the hardships, heartbreaks, and uncertainties of love. This song is wonderful because we can all relate to that.

But if you get down to the details, you realize that it's about getting used - probably for cheap emotional or sexual gratification by another person. Maybe he or she saw you as a fling or someone to lean on in a lonely moment, while you were genuinely in love. That always hurts a bit.

"You make me satisfied You only want to ride But that's alright by me We happen to be free For what tomorrow brings No peace and broken wings It may have been so good But now it's understood 'Twas just a night"

The second verse then expands onto the eternal predicament which is Love and human emotions...

"Love... Destroys the best of us Then leaves the rest of us Thinking perhaps we'll die Yet still we stay alive Lost in a hollow frame With lonely tears remain Not knowing our life's worth Dragging around the earth How false the light"

But the beauty of this song is that it leaves the listener with hope. She's always 'looking for the sun'... hopefully alludes to the fact that there's a future for every one of us - even us victims of love and angels that have had our wings bruised. Smile, for there's sunshine to draw from. Look up, soak in the warmth, and with time and courage, get up...

"I'm always looking for the sun I'm always looking for the sun I'm always looking for the sun I'm only looking for the sun to shine"
