In Roman myth, Jupiter was the king of the gods (the Pantheon) ruler over earth and air with his home at Mount Olympus. I think Jewel writes about Jupiter because she is writing about a love that is larger than life, " To wander on the continent of his skin suggests that." She is sees him and burns with love, she can't believe she's with him, she's him as a god and feels like she could do anything, even swallow the moon. Why not, he rules there? But she knows tha'ts crazy and she knows it's because of him. The line "Take these stars from my crown" could be that she wants him to ground her and wants them to both just be on the same level for a moment, but passion has gone to their heads. But mostly it makes me think that alot of times in myth people were deified or turned into stars and constellations that we know today, and I think that is what that means, that to love such a person lifts her up, makes her feel like a goddess. I think that Jewel is simply saying how love can make a god or goddess out of anyone, and that Venus, goddess of love, knew that very well, and that who knows in who's eyes you are a god or goddess to?
