Okay. My analysis! I think the person that he's with, she wants to end the relationship and he's telling her to remember their dreams together, those endeavors, all the things they've been through together. The stars lyric "We watch these stars shine," in the first verse is pretty. The stars in their sky, the personal memories it could mean, the grand beauty of their relationship of what they used to have together, they watch from afar now, as watching isn't actually being involved, there's no longer happiness. It could also mean the stars are shining lights of the love between them. The sky above represents that there's a space, there's another side to where this could go, and he's trying to get that through to her (the other meaning of the sky is at the end of this analyzation). That the only way out isn't to end it. The cloud they're living on could mean the bad things in the relationship, living on possibly meaning these torrential downpours of whatever it may be have been going on for while. The whole kiss thing is a reminder. A kiss, would be more than a kiss, and it would send them off into a sky of new beginnings, rather than an end. Again, kill your doubts. She has doubts in the relationship, maybe from insecurities or words said in vain because of the confidence reference. He has confidence in their relationship. He doesn't want to hear anymore convictions of the end, as it would be, ending the relationship, coming from her words, he just wants that kiss to make things right. I LOVE and adore the kite reference. Things begin to get tremendously exciting in the bridge. Basically saying it's the two of them, simple and beautiful, there he is, there she is, and the kite is a last attempt to make amends. Because what exactly is a kite. A sort of hopeful endeavor, like a last chance, small and feeble, fragile on a string, goes into the sky, trying to regain what they used to have. They're connected, and her intentions threaten the wire being broken. Suddenly the realms of what they both know become statically charged, the storm maybe being a conflict. Or, it's a final crescendo to his plea. Here I am, there you are, collide! I think that says it all.
But if you notice, he says storm in the sky, not in the clouds. The clouds they're on become electric, and the storm is above. That storm of emotions creates an electric whirlwind where they're at. Kiss him for the sky above, the word sky could mean relationship. Hm, that would make sense if the sky is above them, what they had is above them, and they're on a wisp of cloud, trying to stay within the sky. That kiss would send them out from the cloud back into the sky. But there's a storm, and it fuels the changes in the clouds, their current position. "Kiss me for the sky above," just one more time for what they had.
It could be the other way around. Maybe he is the one who wants to leave, but he doesn't really want to end it, so he asks her to do something. Could be why he says "..wrapped in your hours" instead of ours. But then again, we won't really know the lyrics until the CD comes out.. mannn..great song though!!
Alas..this one will be long..haha.
