While Tomd and Deluded seem to be right, the more I read the lyrics, the more it seems Thumbelina was on to something with the prostitute idea. There's several lines that would imply this.

"I'm a name on a list" and "All take and no give" would definately imply this. Also "Who would've thought a boy like me could come to this?" and "I should've walked away" would imply the regret of going with that kind of girl.

I think a big line to note was "Loving by proxy" though. As an adjective "proxy" means "acting as substitute for another" which well... Apply that line to a woman and lights flash prostitute all over.

And the very last verse - "It was a long hot night But she made it easy, she made it feel right But now it's over, the moment has gone I followed my hands not my head, I know I was wrong"

Going to a prostitute would be uneasy and tense, but it's their job to make it feel easy/right, as she did. In the end, if you replace hands with "little man" (if you get my drift), it makes a lot more sense. And in the heat of the moment, using your head isn't really how it goes down.

So, a different take, but I'm not sure exactly what Cutting Crew intended.
