i know there's a theological metaphor here, it's just more subtle than some of their other songs. maybe this song kind of relates humankind to dr. frankenstein, and our tendency to try and repair our sinful nature ourselves, to fix it so we can continue on in righteousness. however when we do that, the sin always calls back to us wanting to remarry us...
