This song is kinda like The Magnetic Fields' version of "Baby It's Cold Outside." Like..the speaker is just saying anything to get the girl or guy to stay. It's cute. The speaker knows that if he/she can convince the person to stay (not just the night..just with them and in the relationship) that they'll end up really falling in love. The last line doesn't really tie into this little explanation, though...or maybe it does and I just don't see it.
