I think this song shows, in a microcosm, the only two ways of living life: by night or by day. Day and night may both just be metaphors for good and bad, social or anti-social, or maybe even lover or hater of the 21st century. I would choose to say though that if you did not liek the way the world is then it would not be any better at night than it would be during the day. Maybe.
