In short, Germaine Greer got zinged. Looking at a few lines in detail: "Well versed I am in the taint of my birth, my diminishing roll in this sphere" - Men have been pretty brutally marginalised in recent years, and Greer could claim some responsibility for this ("role" rather than "roll", BTW). "Well England is pretty in the summer time" - You know, Germaine living in England because there's no room in Australia for a woman of her intellectual calibre, or something. "Boys are beautiful until the age of nine" - Ms. Greer does seem to have a thing for young boys.
