Well I think its stupid that people thought it was offensive. Anyways, as I said on the last set of lyrics, this song has nothing to do with Jesus or religion. The term "Paper Jesus" is metaphor to money. The song is about people desperately wanting money and power. By the way these lyrics are wrong:

You take this all for granted All the things they choose to feed you By keeping you distracted Just long enough to bleed you... dry

Chorus A reason for your anger, Its what I need, Its what I need To recognize the truth, Its what I need, Its what I need So burn your Paper Jesus, Its what I need, Its what I need And own the things you do, Its what I need, Its what I need

Question what they sell you All the lies that they are teaching Can they pay the corporations All the desperate people stealing... fear

Chorus

Somebody chose theese words for you Interpretations of the truth Somewhere behind your fear they hide To fill the holes inside

Chorus

Those are the correct lyrics

@dmk89 - Of course it has to do with religion. How could "they've made a corporation out of desperate people's feelings of fear" and "somebody chose these words for you - interpretations of the truth. Somewhere behind your fear they hide, to fill the holes inside" possibly be referring to money? Or really to anything other than some abusive authoritarian institution (of which, let's face it, religious institutions are the uncontested epitome.)

"Paper Jesus" is more than likely a reference to the biblical version of Jesus, which can't be trusted as valid because it's been censured by religious authorities so many times.

(AKA "Jesus on Paper.")
