Da1AndOnlyMe: Sully Erna is Wiccan, so any religious meaning to "But I still believe in immortal love/And I know there's someone above" would probably be originally referring more to an all-encompassing God and Goddess or any number of specific deities, depending on Erna's tradition, but it can also be interpreted as the Christian God if that's what floats your boat. It's one of the reasons I like this song so much.
If it IS a song with religious tones, I think the meaning overall is that when life has been rough for too long, even though the BELIEF is still there, a little sign or intervention or something to prove that the divinity of choice hasn't moved on would be appreciated.
