I can see what Muffinhead is saying in te lyrics a little. For example, the first two lines "Don't put your hand in the pockets that feed you / You might not get it out" could be the band telling these pseudo-80's bands that it's ok to draw influence from 80's bands, but to be careful not to get too drawn into that and end up not being able to escape the 80's sound... or something (I'm bad at explaining things)
Also, the last line "You ould surely try to be more alive" is more evidence of this.
