Where the nick name Emo comes from is the Word Emotice the orginal name of the genre. Coming from Emotive, Emotic, though not a "Dictionary Word" means to arrouse emotion or penetrating to the emotions which comes from from the combanation of the root and suffix. So to be Emo is not neccesarly sad but just something that brings out your emotions. no matter what the emotion is. and once you understand that then you can see that D/C is very Emo
