I think it is about, being in an intimate relationship, (whether sexual or non-sexual) with someone who knows they are dying, but they didn't tell you they were dying. They said everything was fine. Now, you've become very attached to this person who's insides are sleeping, (dead) and are in the "anger" stage of mourning...ponder that. The lyrics just don't make sense, any other way, at least to me.
@sailingallalone I agree, but with a slight variance. I feel the person dying in the relationship may have an addiction, alcohol comes to mind. They know they are dying, killing themselves, even trying to hide it when they drink. "Endless hours of wasted moments" nearly puts the last nail in the coffin, in my opinion, on this.

@sailingallalone I personally don't see the "dying" aspect of the song?? I agree it is about being in love with someone, but that someone is not dying IMO. That someone is simply stringing along the narrator ... telling them lies to keep them in tow etc.
