well, to each his own, but it seems (at least to me) that this song is lyrically weak in its construction. plus the singer really doesnt seem suited to the song. all told, its pretty bad. . . yet i never turn the radio when i hear it. the translation sounds about right to me, tho i might argue that its just as likely (if not more so) that she only acknowledges him as a friend, that she has no romantic feelings toward her. it feels to me (no proof, lyrically or otherwise. just my own gut) that he has feelings for her, yet was always too afraid to say anything, and relegated himself to the best-friend role. now she's out-of-reach (married, in a relationship, joined a convent, etc.), and he's broken up about it, but still willing to do anything for her, despite the fact that they can never be. willing to do anything to make her happy, showing his love (i hate that word. never sounds right to me) for her w/o her knowing how he feels. but then, as i said, that interpetation is not based off of anything stated in the song, just a feeling that i get. and probably more than a little influenced by a situation i find myself in thats not entirely dissimmilar, so dont take me too seriously. its a horrible song that becomes phenominal thru deeper meaning.
