He says, "We're nothing but hollow vessels in search of what makes us alive," which rings very true to me. It seems like we're often taking whatever chance we can to figure out why we're here.

But Spencer is saying that he doesn't need to walk the white line because that isn't his "revolution" - It isn't the way he focuses the turning of his time. He recognizes what a mistake he would be making if he devoted himself to something fleeting.

I'm not sure, but I believe he's saying that there's somebody who's devoted to him, but he's certain they're taking a risk by doing so - "this is for you and your hopeless case". Every time he tries to fail, the person chooses to do so too just to stay at his side.

At the end, I believe's being judged for what he's done. But without sin, he's delicate and ashamed of who he was now that he's renounced the shell of his short-comings. He says that by looking at who he was he will never make the same mistakes again.
