I think it was just trying to be a little goofy. He askes her to kiss him, she said something to effect of "No, but I'm sure you'll be ok." Perhaps not goofy, but kinda of witty but obnoxious.
Anyway, I think it's a pretty cute song. I'm impressed they managed to make it work. Though I was thinking it would be more about elementary school kids just from the title.
