Well, Running Up That Hill is on the bonus disc of Sleeping With Ghosts, Zodin. Dunno if that helps.

I think people associate this too much with romantic relationships. I find the song to have a basic meaning of overcoming trials, and wanting to help loved ones do the same... by switching places with them.

I agree with you about people interpreting this song as having to deal with a romantic relationship. I see it this way:

It's song about telos or humanity progressing up that hill. Swapping places means trying on the other's shoes or seeing things from their vantage point. "Let's exchange the experience." To me this song is about compassion, donning the suffering of another so we can reach telos, run up that hill.

Kagerou and LaughingPhoenix i agree with both of you. i think this song has the same meaning in both Kate Bush and Placebo's versions- i like them both. placebo really give it emotion and atmosphere. i think the song is giving a message of overcoming problems, and that problems can be fixed. maybe the protagonist and the person that is being sung to both have problems, but if they understand each other and each other's problems they will then be able to succeed in fixing them? "let's exchange the experience"
