it is amazing to me, people's inability to take spirituality and the spiritual realm at face value. it seems fairly obvious to me from these lyrics that eddie is talking about an encounter with a demon/devil. he was visited and reminded that he has a master and that he is waiting. chose this day who you will serve. it seems to me saddly that eddie has made his choice, and a choice rightfully regretted. if he had known then what he knows now.... you won't come out on top in a deal with the devil.
