Wow! I'm the second person to comment on this. Ahaha! Well, I heard this song and I immediately thought it was a Christian song. Maybe it's just me... But, I've heard Lifehouse is a Christian band, so it makes sense. Consider when Jason sings, "We walk in your footsteps". Well, we, as Christians, walk in God's footsteps and yes, we have our "ups and downs", because sometimes we disappoint God with our words and/or our actions.... "And these times just won't change. Life just stays the same. I'd give anything to see the light of day" sounds like he's crying out to see God's light. And "'Cause I've been too far away to hear you whispering" gives me another "clue" because sometimes God tells us stuff, but we don't hear Him because we're not listening... Maybe it's also about having a Godly relationship. Because the chorus sounds like a relationship to me... I'll just have to think about it some more... just thought I'd tell ya now while it's still on my mind. :D
