This song is popular with some angels who stopped in to treat me to their rendition of a cheap B-movie that I found both delightful and terrifying—but that’s angels for you, I guess.
They seemed to rock the world of anyone they encountered with their surprises and naturally they were doing all kinds of “look how I’m reading your mind” tricks because well duh, they’re angels. In the strange tale, I was “monkey in the middle” as well as “sister moon” so I suppose monkey in the moon is a blend of both—as they are fond of shorthand. I can’t clearly analyze all of the imagery represented—no big surprise as far as I’m concerned—but much of it is fairly literal. The letters in the rain were letters raining—hundreds if not thousands of them. The running rabbit was the character of Thumper—the concurrent entity representing the guardians of the universe. We had Beauty and her beast, discussion on religion that went past the traditional interpretations, overdue trains and plenty of overkill. Walking into the light couldn’t help but also touch on the “Carolann! Don’t go near the light!” from Poltergeist—angel humor … and they love Spielberg. This one’s made for you had to do with the metamorph peace bringer tale and of course, message understood? Naturally. Love the song.
