I won't discredit the things said before me, but I can say what this song means to me.

From the get go, this song is about a twenty something, wondering when childhood stops, and adulthood begins. He's discontent with the fact that his life doesn't feel that much different from high school, it's still about things that are so very superficial.

He has no direction in life, he has no idea what's going on. But at least he's still going, and at least he still has his dreams and ambitions. There's still some sort of light at the end of that proverbial tunnel.

The next verse isn't necessarily about a lover, it may just be a friend. One whos' going through similiar difficulties, but handling it in different ways. Where as the singer is keeping to himself, and falling into himself, the one sung about in the second verse goes out and surrounds him or herself in distraction, be it drinking or drug abuse, or rampant tantric sex. At the end of the day, they're both equally disenchanted with life in general.

It's a song about the realization that no matter how old you get, no matter how bad things get, no matter how good things get, there will always be a need for an escape. There'll always be that something more you want. You'll never truely be satisfied.

Finding ones way back home, a desire to go back to the simple life, when there weren't so many questions without answers. So many problems without solutions.

It's about a young adult, and the problems we face. Despeartely searching for someone who can find our answers for us, but realizing that the harder we look, the harder it is to find them.

It's about life with others your age, that share your problems, but don't ever truly understand what's going oin in your life.

This song is what the twenties are. It really is. If it doesn't apply to you, it applies to someone you know, and maybe you're the one that the second verse talks about.

Food for thought.
