I dont know if it holds a religious message. i think its referring to how we as humans are so concerned with the outside appearances, we dont worry about what we are inside; like feelings, virtues, values, morals.

"Smile with teeth exposed" - talking about physical appearence
"Novocaine" - mentally, emotionally numbed, maybe?
"All we are, are crocodiles" - crocs are knon to be moraless and dumb. things that only look out for themselves
"Black out" - not thinking
"Blessed we come and blessed we go" - im not totally sure, but it has something to do with not holding true to religion, possibly?
"But this world is full of white teeth and black lungs" outside is nice, but inside not so healthy
