Seasons Lyrics

Wow... how can you just say a Chris Cornell song is about one word-- 'depression'. Geez, that's like people that think everything Layne Staley wrote was about drugs. Give these guys a little more credit... they have more poetic license than most of us!!

To me, this song seems to be about finding out you've been living in your head 'dreams have never made my bed'... like what I'm dreaming isn't getting me anything tangible. The mirror shows him another face bc he chooses to believe he's who he is in this dream... you know, that sort-of inflated image we all have of ourselves. And then something tangible-- his reality -- laying on the naked floor reminds him he was lost in his own head-- "lost behind words I'll never find". He can't find the words to explain his conditon/feelings. Oh man, all the references to writers block are KICKASS in here... being angry at yourself for not being able to spit it out "if I should be short on words and long on things to say" that whole line is just sweet as fuck. The most frustrating thing in the world is having something to say and not knowing how to put it... and the last part 'should I be beside myself and never even stay' sounds like self-abandonment... again, going into this fantasy dream-world and getting lost in it. Oh sigh So good. So so good. Marry me Chris!!!!!! lol

I like your take on this one Angry Sar, well done.

This is a very deep song and the lyrics match the music well. This was my first introduction to Chris Cornell and I'm not sure I have found anything better than this; it truly is a great song.
