i don't think you get it punker_ken, a remix is about rearranging/adjusting/adding sounds in an interesting way. This is Mick Jones' attempt at being Lee Perry, twiddling the knobs and such. I think he did a pretty good job. The original spirit of the song is there, and bringing up the bongos in the mix is a nice touch.
Perhaps you're too used to hearing the original radio version...give it another listen.
