This song always makes me think of a car crash, for some reason, both of them bleeding to death together. I hardly think that's what the song is about, nor do I think it's about suicide or any other kind of literal dying. Rather, I think it's about the falling out of love, a calm yet still sad breakup where they both just realize that it's best to move on.
An absolutely lovely song either way, especially the instrumental part right after the first "In this moment of tranquility / I realize / this is goodbye".
