Yes.. the song is about regret but I doubt it's "Oh man, we totally sold out!" (Off-topic: If you really wanted to look at every single Anarchist band, they're all hypocrites due to some sort of 'sin'.. whether it's purchasing clothing/goods processed in sweatshops, using gasoline in their vans/cars, or the idea of selling ideals.. in the form of music.. I know that's stretching it, but if an ideal is constantly bended, it will be broken..)

Before I go into anything, it's probably not the 'best' idea to analyze this song by itself. The album is definitely meant to be placed together, and not torn about word by word...

(This is gonna be long.. just a warning) Around the time of this album and before, the band had a conflict of interest with Plan-It-X; part of their fanbase for their decision to sign to Fat, etc...

"Even at our Worst, We're Still Better than Most" isn't so much about being a (boo-hoo) sellout.. it's about facing adversity on all sides for the decisions they make, and sort of pointing out that there's no way (or rather, it's improbable) they could just drop everything, and return to playing at campfires and basement shows.

The song also notes the idea that the band is not a movement or ideal... or punk rock saviors.. they're now a source of entertainment that we (in reference to fans) spend hours criticizing AND supporting. And at this point, it's beyond their control (unless they break up). The next song on the album ("Problems") continues this story.... >_>
