Well, first off, the song is phenomenal, I could say it's one of my many favorites by cold,I'm not sure the true meaning of the song, but I do know my interpretation for it. But obviously, he may be talking about a drug addiction of some sort. Being in love with someone, and him or them having an addiction. But it could be him, looking at the world, seeing that most people are the same, and very few understand him, in his mind, apparently he is love, and the girl hurt him badly, and he doesn't know if he will be able to look forward to the future without having that person in his life. So he turns to drugs, like take another pill for love let it open up your mind to be free again, could mean that person, made him feel free, like a drug, which in his mind no drug can compare to what she made him feel. But to him, he's lost everything, in his past he's had to fight alot of battles, and he finally believed that things have gotten better, until he's lost something dearly to himself, and he turns to medicate the only thing he's ever done to cope with things. So he could have quit for her, or the fact that he's lost alot of people to that addiction or perhaps even her. But I dunno this could be wrong, but I can relate to it 100%, and thats my interpretation. :)
