To me, there are two ways of looking at this song.
The first way: it sounds like someone might have just asked the narrator why he doesn't love/appreciate them, so in the song, the narrator explains that it's nothing personal -- he doesn't love anyone at all. The person must be kidding themselves ("you're playing with yourself") if they think that the narrator might actually develop feelings for them.
Another way of looking at it, is that the narrator could be a young kid who doesn't have any friends/playmates, and tries to shrug it off by saying that he doesn't love anyone -- he doesn't like people in general -- as opposed to admitting that maybe nobody loves him. (basically what Powdhar said)
