Well, this is what Kav Temperley said (a member of the band): "A song like London Bombs is personal, but it's set against a much more political, worldly backdrop. I'm not actually talking about the London bombs, but the distraction at that particular moment in time."

I don't really know what that means. lol. But when I listen to it I still think I'm going to assume its about the London bombings. Some other guy described it as a "lighters-in-the-air, handkerchief-to-the-eye, unashamed balled for the masses" kinda song - I couldn't agree more.
