Somehow I felt this song was about these two people who's friends have come and gone much like it always is. They both are hoping that one day they can both find someone who can stick around. He wants the girl to be that person for him but maybe he realizes no one ever does stick around for long. Sort of depressing but that's how it sounds. I love this song especially the beginning the singer's voice is brilliant!
