Sacred Love Lyrics

This song is so much more humorous than it sounds--probably because of the word "sacred". But then sacred can be Christ, Allah, Mohammed, Freya, Zeus, the corn goddess--even the daughter of the Asrai. "Thou shalt not doubt this love is real" suggests a bit of overkill but in retrospect, I can't say that it was--after all, where is peace? No closer to the far horizon than it had been 20 years ago. I find the line "if you don't love her, your best friend will" amusing. Also, the song is a bit cheeky. It could be saying, are you all absolutely nuts?! How on earth can this "river in flood" ever make a difference, let alone fix anything?!
He's probably hatching his own plan along with Bono, Geldoff and Gates.
Thank heavens! Then I'm off the hook? Oh sure. Why not? They're all so much more suited to this than you. Phew! Lucky at last!
