I would have to agree with you halloween413 how it's about how he lost his faith and is somehow trying to get it back, but I get the feeling that he almost doesn't think that is possible. One thing though; in the Bible there are passages where God speaks of war and how sometimes war is necessary. (If you don't believe me look up Ecclesiastes 3:8)
