I think that this song is mostly about a vacation she took herself, just a free summer when she was young and had a beautiful fun, but short fling with a man who was all these things women seem to want. Exotic, cultured, etc...and then years later when they've "grown up" he's changed to the husband image that we always see in tv and stuff, the type women hate...but she still loves him and has something special for him, even if he is kinda boring =) she remembers the times they had =)
