It's not emo. I really like this song, and I'm glad it's coming out as a single... I think one of the great things about TDG's music is that it can be interpreted in a variety of ways. I can definately see how this song can be interpreted to be about self-harm. "'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all"
I agree with you but I think it could be that he's been pushed aside for so long that he can't feel anything anymore so by feeling pain he feels real again.
