to me it says that emotions are more powerful than words can be. Which then gets me to the old cliche, actions speak louder than words.
But the "severed how we used to speak" part and a little after shows how language has envolved into this extremly important aspect in soceity, and very proper language anywhere is expected and held to be normal.
