To me, this song isn't about being happy someone is gone, I think it is the exact opposite. During the chorus he says that he's happy the person is gone, but the verses say something else to me.
In the first verse he talks about how he can't believe she's gone, he's in apparent shock. In the second verse he speaks of getting drunk and fighting. To me, that sounds like someone whose devastated. I think he's trying to convenice himself that he's happy when in all actuallity he's devastated!
