At first I thought maybe it was about someone who was attacked, and they spent their last moments with their pet who might not quite get it. However, I'm really not sure. I think, though, that the scabs may indicate some kind of pain or problem that the owner only talk to about with her pet, and the pet's just hoping she knows that he really does understand her problems.
