This is my favorite on Greendale. Jed is confused and malleable. He lacks the vision that his hippie family had in the late 60s early 70s and is lost in modern America. Without guidance he falls off track.
Big Government takes over and doesn’t attack the real problems of Jed instead they assure:
But there's no need to worry
There's no reason to fuss
Just go on about your work now
And leave the drivin' to us
And we'll be watching you
No matter what you do
And you can do your part
By watchin' others too
Essentially, exploiting him for the wrong reasons and using it to further their own agenda
He writes the longest song yet with no words in a later song. Existentialistic realizations have imprisoned him.
The moral of this story
Is try not to get too old
The more time you spend on earth
The more you see unfold
Life is nothing more that an un-interactive movie projector.
