My take on the song is a little bit different than everyone... I think it's about the author dealing with his own fame. "Why won't they leave me alone, when I don't even want me." Sounds like someone who can't really understand why people like him so much when he doesn't even like himself -- something I can certainly identify with.
"Why do they observe me, there's nothing here to cure," again, is talking about fame and being observed by fans and critics -- and people who read into the lyrics too much, perhaps? ;)
"They have to kill the meal before they can consume my inner peace, without the understanding, trapped in the words, the hands are moving me." Sounds to me like he's talking about the record industry, where they feast on his success without really taking the time to understand him or his words. He feels like a puppet on a string, another theme that comes up in other songs.
