"For several years, I was alone. I didn't go out at all. People called me 'The Hermit.' So I had a lot of time to reflect on who I was. That's what our first single, 'Paralyzed' is about--being stuck and unable to move forward."
Makes a lot of sense and it's kind of what I'm dealing with atm.
First stanza says it all, it occurs to him that he's isolated from everyone else and when he tries to break free from it he gives up because it takes a lot of work to do it. Later on he says "I'm paralyzed, I'm paralyzed/The only way to cope/Is to realize" which means he's staying sane only by realizing his problem and having hope that he can get out of it but everytime he tries he's held back, repeating the cycle over and over.
And yeah, a shame the beat is ripped off from The Kinks, but Tucker was probably influenced by it because he was into punk
