Another gem from Zeppelin III. The lyrics to this song are plain enough for all to see the meaning. It's a great message, and very well vocalized by Plant. But yes, the rhythm and chord progressions are what make this song a big favourite with me. I just love the way it builds and builds (the eastern influence really comes out in the Page/Plant No Quarter/Unledded live version)! Believe it or not, this song originally had a definite ending and did NOT fade off into that airplane-like guitar drone. After the recording session, one of the assistants to the recording engineer ACCIDENTLY deleted the ending... and when he realized what he'd done, he suddenly ran out of the studio! (This is well documented and is mentioned in many books about Zeppelin). Page THEN decided to mask in the guitar drone ending to save the rest of the track... a good segway to Celebration Day.
