-Him being set into the ocean is him lifing his normal life full of spite. The ocean crashes down when he remembers something ill-starred again. It drowns him because it's all consuming. A sea, vast & wide, a sea that's never ending.
"Alone I drift off again"
-Can't hurt myself if I'm alone, no one to hurt, no one to hurt me, no ill memories anymore.
"Take away my sanity"
-Too much to take, I cannot hold on, so if I give up my mind (my conscience) I can forget.
"Block out all the thoughts of inner rage
Protect me from myself"
-The thoughts conspire due to the way he's been treated in life. Protect him from who he is now because he has so much hate, so much that he can no longer control... He has lost who he was.
"I close my eyes & pray for the end"
-Could be death, could be the end of the sea (the memories). He's looking for answers... But, the sea is too much for him.
He's given up because it seems fruitless... Now all he wants is relief.
