I agree with Anghared. Its about a person that you loved and now that person has moved on. However, when he says that 'there is so much pain in here..', I believe that the feelings are still very much there, although the other person has more or less become indifferent/moved on. A great song with nostalgia, grief and a sense of loss all mixed in it.
