The website for WFMU put the whole Van Morrison "contractual obligations session" up a while ago, and it's a really interestingly bizarre listen. See, he really wanted out of his contract with Bang Records, but technically owed them the publishing rights to 31 more songs, so he went to a studio by himself and recorded 31 different improvised "songs" on acoustic guitar. So naturally a lot of it is complete nonsense, but a definite recurring thread is venom towards the record label. This one's about his dissatifsaction with his debut album; Bang put out an album of songs originally intended as potential single sides without consulting him, put a psychadelic cover on it, and called it "Blowin' Your Mind!", and he was none too happy about this.
